Happy New Year
I hope everyone had a very happy holiday season. The economy is pretty scary right now, but I have great hope that it will resolve over the next couple of years. Don't expect it to heal overnight, it's in extremely critical condition!
Take time to spend with your family and friends and get back to the basics of life. This may even help a lot of people to relax and be far less stressed in the long run.
Let go of the idea that you must have it ALL and RIGHT NOW. Tomorrow is another day. Enjoy today for all it's worth! Tomorrow will come and by then, maybe you'll have an even better idea of what you really want. Until then tend to your needs, and learn to understand the difference between needs and wants.
What you need becomes your immediate goal(s) and the wants are long term goals, which we all know can change dramatically over time.
Work with your fellow nurses to continue to provide the best quality care possible under the circumstances. Work together and become a strong fantastic team. The load will be lighter and the end results much better.
